With Abandon
The trees glitter and gleam,
decorated with the jewels of nature.
Sun shines, releiving the forest of its finery, dissolving it with a glance.
Light filters though leaves, soft and green.
Prisms of color strike the ground,
reflected through the fragile diamonds of raindrops.
As the golden rays of light bolden, these gems disappear,
only to be replaced by the whispers of the breeze,
sighing through the forest, speaking to me.
Calling to me, telling me to be free,
to abandon the trappings of society
and become one with the trees, the wind, and the sun.
I yearn to sleep at night with only the stars for cover,
cold and distant, shining bright.
But tonight will not be the night,
nor will tomorrow be the day
that I drop it all away,
and forget myself in the woods.

I did all of these quite a while ago, though. :)
