and I'm sorta surprised.

I just looked in the folder where I keep my Sentinel fanfics.  Most of them are incomplete, and are just notes and such for when I actually get around to filling the whole story out.  But what really struck me is just how many of those stories are First Times.  I've known for a long time now about my addiction to these types of stories, but sheesh...I swear, like 40 out of the 50-ish stories and story ideas I have must be First Times.  I'm bad, I know.  I just didn't realize 'til now *how* bad.

So is there anyone out there who's just as addicted to one type of story as I am?

I mean, I have nothing against other types of stories, I love them all. (well, maybe not ALL..I have a few pet peeves, but I won't get into that here *g*)  But there's just something about First Times stories that gets me every time...*sigh* And I also noticed that J&B almost ALWAYS end up madly in love in the end of mine...*bg* I'm trying to work on variety here, but all the plot bunnies that come my way are of the same family, and there's some serious incest going on here, because these bunnies are breeding like...well, you know.

I'm pretty much an angst junkie. As long as they're together at the end of the story, the more angst, the better. =>}

I'm also very partial to post TSbyBS, especially fic in which Blair attends the Academy and is hassled or graduates, then is hassled - to the point of quitting. Then he leaves Cascade and a lot happens - angst etc. - and then FINALLY, Jim finds him and eventually they get back together, older, scarred and wiser. =>}

I do enjoy first time fic, as well. Basically, I like variety. =>}

I have this death fic thing going or, as I think of it, grief fic. It's not a huge proportion of my output, but it's notable given how many people really do not like the concept...and it spills out into other stories as well. Me, I do better with established relationships. We all of us have our favourite themes. :-)

Mmmm, I love angst, too.

I totally agree! :D

Every once in a while I can read a death fic, especially if the reaction to the death is really good, but I just can't bring myself to kill one of the boys! 0-0 *g*

Yeah. *g*

Just a hint. I have found that because they are used in the html coding on LJ, you can't use the "greater than" and "lesser than" symbols in other places, because LJ then interprets them as code.

Try " " or :: :: or such.

I hope that makes sense. =>}

No problem! When it first happened to me and I got that error message, I had no idea what I'd done! It took me awhile to figure it out, so I thought I'd give you a heads up. =>}

when i first got into fanfic (and writing fanfic) i was really into the first time stories, but as time went on i got tired of reading/writing only (or mostly) first times and became more interested in reading/writing established relationship stories. since in TS i'm really into AUs, i seem to write more first times, but i also tend to write long, so i can write a story and it can be both first time and established relationship...

AUs and Angst - seems to be all I can write in this universe. *g*

yeah, I figure that eventually, I'll get into other things more, and be able to write them more often. But for right now, I'm totally hooked! There are so many ideas bouncing around in my head that at this rate, I'll never get them finished! (That's probably mostly b/c I'm a first-class procrastinator, though... *g*)

I'm definitely obsessed with them being an item but I don't mind if it's first times, est rel, or what. But I can totally understand being hooked on one type of fic that just works for you.

From: [identity profile] krossero.livejournal.com

hee! I love your icon! And I'm not really surprised that I'm hooked to first times stories, but what shocked me is the sheer amount of ideas I'd come up with for these fics. I mean, before November-ish, I hadn't even written one little bitty bit of fanfiction! 0-0

Writing is like crack, but they don't tell you that when you start, oh, no....

From: [identity profile] krossero.livejournal.com

SO TRUE!!!! There should be warnings, really. *g* But I tend to get plot bunnies at the most unfortunate times, at least once in a while. If I burst out into giggles in the middle of a test, that's probably why. Or I'm just going nuts. Both are valid and applicable. =D

AU first meetings! Like you, most of my WIP folder is filled with those kind of stories.

If it's not an AU first meeting, then it tends to be humour. It seems I barely write anything apart from those two.

LOL I love your icon!! And I love to read AU's and humor, I just can't seem to write them...I'm not all that creative/funny *bg*

Thanks for the icon love! It's one I made myself, though the Bert and Ernie as Jim and Blair idea came from GardenDoor's icon. (See this icon.)

If you want to use mine, feel free - just please credit me. I think GardenDoor's icon is still 'borrowable', again with credit. :oD
